Found this recipe in my inbox recently. https://www.chilipeppermadness.com/recipes/birria-tacos/. I was looking to buy the ingredients when I found Joel does this kit. Sorted! I used the above recipe as a guide really. C/F: with others on the net, and cooked it last w/end.

I made up the spice mix with vine tomatoes, onions, peppers, two fresh chillies and some veg from the fridge. Cooked it down and blitzed to a smooth paste. Online recipes call for a fatty cut or things like oxtail/ribs. I had 1kg of gravy beef, 500g or coarse ground brisket. I fried off the mince, then browned the beef. Into the slow cooker with the sauce for about 4 hours on low. The beef was pulled out and shredded, seasoning checked, and returned to the pot for another 2 hours on high.

Because of the meat used, there wasn't the layer of fat to fry the tacos with, so I dipped flour tacos in the sauce and fried in a drop of rice bran. Served with Mexican rice on the side. I've had it another twice over the preceding week and it just gets better every time. There was even enough to put a couple of serves in the freezer for later.

This kit was a great time saver, and if you don't use a lot of dried chillies it's economical too. Great flavour, nothing apart from meat and veg needed to make, and leftovers for several more meals. I'll be buying another one or two next time I'm in Adelaide.

I bought a set of these in 2016 and loved them! Then they were misplaced a year later. In 2020 during the pandemic my friend bought me a new set and brought them to New Zealand for me. I was elated! Then around a year later, a ‘friend’ stole one to wind me up with the intention of giving it back. He lost it! I looked here to see they were out of stock. I signed up to be notified when they returned in stock and was overjoyed to see that email come through. After my friend ordered my Maraca Mariachi duck I have been informed that it actually isn’t back in stock. Heartbroken!

I'm lazy so use the taco kits from the store. But having gotten a packet of this with my last order used it instead of the provided seasoning. It elevated the tacos to the next level and I could never go back after this discovery. Highly recommend this seasoning.

Used these for several different meals. Great heated up on a dry grill plate for carnitas tacos, shallow fried in oil for topped with refried beans, cheese and hot sauce tostadas or filled with pulled beef and fried for mini taquitos. Nice thickness and chew to them

Just the best. The flavour the chilis from this kit give is beyond compare. Forget your ground beef / mince chili with whatever spice dust you use, this is absolutely next level. No, really. I used cubed chuck steak and pork shoulder, browned first and chopped onion fried in beef tallow. I then added the soaked , de-seeded and blended chili mix, cooked as per included instructions. If you use lard, beware, the smell of it frying can be quite strong, beef dripping works well. Unbelievable. A little sour cream, some chopped coriander if you like it, some cornbread or rice........ heaven. I hope Chili Mojo continues to stock this kit as I have been woken up to how good real chili con carne can be ! !

I've dabbled in various other premixed Cornbread and even attempted my own but Chile Mojo's is still my go-to.

Whipped up this mix a while back and holy crap it was good. So much flavour in every bite and the additon of the ancho chile really enhances the flavour. Recently just purchased another 3 packs but I think I need to get more!

A lot hotter than I was expecting, but really really good flavour.

I decided to make this cornbread when I had my last lot of Chili Con Carne. The bread is easy to make and only takes about 20 minutes to prepare. The taste is exactly like the delicious cornbread I had at El Juans in San Diego some years ago. It's so hard to get the correct ingredients at Coles - but sooo easy just to buy it premixed from Mojo. Just delicious when dipped in the chili con carne juice and even better next morning with some marmalade on it. HANDY HINT! The mix should be very sticky and don't over mix it. Make sure you have the pan well greased, or use baking paper.

I bought both hidden valley and your Chili Mojo ranch dressing mix to do a comparison ( I don't know why I ever doubted you). We like the Chili Mojo better. Thanks for all your efforts getting the products we want

For years I've been buying Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing/Dip mix,,,,,never again! This is sooooo good and does not taste as salty as HV. Love, love, love this dip. My mouth waters just at the thought of this, yum!
