As seen on The Hot Ones - Season 2

Tapatío is produced in Vernon, California and share's a similar story to the famous Sriracha sauce. "Tapatío" is the name given to people from Guadalajara, and when Jose-Luis Saavedra moved to California in 1971 he found there was no hot sauce available so made his own.

There is only one Tapatio flavour which hasn't changed since it's inception. Still made by the same family that created it nearly 40 years ago, TAPATÍO is a unique and well-balanced blend of red chiles, garlic and spices. The Saavedras family say it will never change.

Tapatio scores 3,000 on the scale of scoville units.

Ingredients: Water, red peppers, salt, spices, garlic, acetic acid, xanthan gum and sodium benzoate as a preservative.

Very good all rounder.

One of my favorites, Not too hot and full of flavor. Highly recommend.

On-the-shelf staple

Great everything sauce that works with everything from chicken to corn flakes. Wonderful bell pepper and chilli flavours with a hint of chipotle and lime. This is the third leg in the Cholula-Tabasco-Tapatio tripod, 2-3 heat.

Like Tabasco, but with taste.

The label mentions only ""red peppers" without specifying what kind. Not all red peppers are created equal, of course, Regardless, this would go well with more stuff than plenty of other sauces. About the same scovilles as Tabasco.
