A very well written, hard to put down book. It avoids art-jargon and the self-importance of so much art criticism and author's synthesis of so many aspects of Frida's life is an amazing accomplishment.

While focusing on just a few years in Frida's life, it provides a fantastic introduction to her life and work and does backtrack to cover her whole life.
