chile Mulato (moo-LAHT-oh), literally light brown or mixed is a close relative of the Ancho / Poblano.

It's thick-fleshed pods dry slowly leaving a richness similar to plums with chocolate overtones. It's a fantastic stuffer for Chiles Rellenos and essential for the classic Mole Poblano.

Excellent quality

I hail from this chile pepper part of the world and am so happy Chile Mojo supplies us all in Australia. The mulato peppers (and all the other peppers) I've ordered are of excellent quality. Also, a shout-out to Chile Mojo for supplying New Mexico chile pepper seeds -- especially Big Jims!!! My last order came with super helpful seed planting instructions that were steeped in genuine care for the peppers. Very grateful for the Chile Mojo folks!
