The smell is quite sweet with a strong sense of raw ground spices. Fortunately, it doesn't taste as sweet as you may expect. It has a slightly thicker than watery texture with what looks like little chunks of garlic giving the sauce a bit more texture. Although it doesn't have an overly garlicky taste.
I tasted this sauce a while after tasting some of the others. Even though I had previously tasted it and not been too impressed coming back to it I"m surprised that it tasted better than I remember it. That being said I still think the majority of the product is a gimmick. However, I wouldn't throw it away if it was the only sauce available to me.
The habanero chilli hits immediately and subsides slowly but isn't initially too hot. I feel like the more fuss a manufacturer makes about how hot a sauce is with joking warnings (the back-kicking donkey in this case) then generally the less it translates to as real heat.
